Acquisition Mail Plan

  • Start with picking test lists that matches the demographics of your target market. Picking the right test list is vital to the success of your campaign.
  • The test mailings should compromise of at least three good quality response lists of a substantial quantity, minimum 3,000 records each.
  • Ensure that records for each list are coded with a unique identifier (finder code) to simplify results tracking. This allows you to quickly determine from which list the response originated.
  • Decide on the most viable mail date. Will holidays have a negative or a positive effect on your responses?

Creative

  • Besides choosing good test lists, copy-writing and artwork are also keys to a successful campaign.
  • Copy should be geared towards acquiring new customers.
  • Ensure the visuals and key messages are catchy and get through to the recipient.
  • Make instructions simple and easy to follow, and make it as easy to order as possible.
  • Brand always, and be consistent in branding to leverage your company’s identity on back-end mailings.
