New Kids on the Block
When we say kids we use the term loosely as these three new additions to the JR Direct team bring with them diverse backgrounds and a wealth of experience. The newest members of the team are Doug Stevens, Jordy Nomura, and Marc Labrie. Check these guys out and get to know a little of there personal and professional sides.
Marc Labrie - Marketing Coordinator
Marc has been with JR Direct for a little over a month now and will be filing in for new mother Shannon Stumph, Wednesday through Friday, until February 2008. By all accounts he is likeable and plays well with others. What Marc enjoys most about being at JR direct is the chance to exercise some creativity in a fun relaxed environment.
When he’s not in the office, Marc directs and produces music videos, is launching his first book in June, loves to surf, travel, and plays guitar on stages all over town.
Doug Stevens - Manager Data Processing Services
Doug takes the helm as the new manager of Data Processing services. He joins JR Direct with a wealth of experience in technical service, international sales, and customer support. His management experience will be a major driving force as JR Direct looks to develop its Data Processing Services to provide further value to our clients. His team has taken note of his dedication to his work, and to his family. Our DPS department has also admitted to standing in silent admiration of his fantastic hair, known affectionately as the “Crown”. While traveling extensively for business and pleasure, Doug maintains his original roots in Steveston, (Richmond) BC, where he and his wife are now raising their own family. Welcome Doug!
Jordy Namura - Marketing Assistant
Jordy has been with JR Direct now for 2 fantastic months. A former crab trap weaver (incredibly true!) Jordy is excited and enthusiastic about his new position with JR Direct. Being the new guy in the Consulting department, he has had to endure a few rituals including donning a has-mat suit. When I asked Jordy what the most enjoyable part about JR Direct has been so far he replied simply “Morgan”, good to see you making friends Jordy! His teammates have commented on his height and appetite for bananas. However, it has been noted that Jordy is a welcome member of the consulting team. When not at his desk Jordy enjoys Bacci Ball and Neil Diamond.
A New Generation in the JR Direct Family
Linda Kohaly, a valued member of our List Services team has recently become a grandmother! No this is not a picture of our young looking Linda, this is her grandson Ryan Stoklossa. Ryan was born to Linda’s daughter Krista and husband Ryan on February 20th 2007. Here is a quick excerpt from an interview I recently had with Linda.
E - What are some of the big differences in seeing your grandchild come into the world vs. your children?
Linda - I feel giddy when I hold him with the sheer joy of it. I think a huge difference is that I don't feel the huge responsibility a new parent feels.
E - What part of being a grandmother are you looking forward to the most?
Linda - I want to be a fun Grandma doing crafts and going on outings.
E - Who does the baby remind you of most in the family?
Linda - Well my husband is East Indian, I'm half British and Hungarian, on the other side we have blonde blue-eyed German. Everyone has been asking me what Ryan looks like? He has dark brown hair and beautiful blue eyes and is very fair.
Congratulations Linda!! Ryan is a lucky little guy to begin life with a great grandmother in his corner. We all know Linda to be a sweet kindhearted and joyful person. On behalf of everyone at the JR Direct Team, we wish you and your family health and happiness for years to come!
