Love is in the Air at JR Direct!

Cupid has struck JR Direct this February! With a sudden influx of engagements and weddings, it seems that he’s been busy this year.

Sandy Anderson & Shawn Blais

Sandy Anderson has been with JR Direct since 1993 and is the Research & Development Manager. Throughout the years, Sandy has worked in almost all aspects of JR Direct, including List Brokerage, Consulting, and Data Processing.
 
In September, while attending a wedding in Ontario with her boyfriend Shawn, a local cement truck driver, he nervously proposed to Sandy outside his family’s home and gave her his mother’s engagement ring. And of course, she said “Yes”!

Although a date hasn’t been set and plans haven’t begun yet, ideas are definitely in the works.  Sandy and Shawn would like to have an outdoor wedding in the summer of 2007 at one of the beautiful garden venues around Vancouver. They envision a simple, yet romantic ceremony with lots of beautiful flowers and music, surrounded by their closest friends and family.  Sandy pictures the décor colors as creamy gold with accents of black, perhaps with a historic theme to set a romantic mood for this special day. ‘Good food, good friends, and good times’ are the mantra for this wedding.

Julia Cooper & Dave Richardson

Julia Cooper has been with JR Direct for 15 years and has worked in almost every department including Consulting, Data Processing, and List Management. She is now the List Marketing Coordinator with the List Admin Team that coordinates the processing of orders.

Last October Julia’s boyfriend Dave Richardson, a Concrete Cutter Blaster, went out for dinner at a renowned restaurant in the picturesque town of Fort Langley. When dessert was served, a scrumptious chocolate cake, what did Julia find? An engagement ring!

Julia and Dave have a large wedding planned for October 7th, 2006, with an expected 180 people in attendance and a bridal party of 10. They will be saying their “I Do’s” at North View Golf Course in the wedding garden gazebo with a reception to follow in the elegant banquet room with an amazing view of the championship golf course and surrounding mountains. Having a fun and relaxed celebration is important to them, so with their West Coast beach themed décor, complete with a limbo contest, they will definitely have a blast!

Carolyn Murray & Mark Pasenelli

Carolyn Murray joined JR Direct in 2003 in the Consulting Department as the Marketing Admin Assistant.

Carolyn and her fiancé Mark had been planning a small and intimate wedding for this upcoming summer. But in a surprising twist, their plans were thrown out the window and they hopped on a plane to Las Vegas to tie the knot!

From the Stratosphere Hotel, where they were staying on the top floor in a room filled with 16 boxes of personalized pink & purple M&Ms to mark the occasion, they were picked up in a cream-coloured stretch limousine that brought them to their wedding destination, the Shalimar Wedding Chapel. Carolyn and Mark were married on January 28th in a simple but loving ceremony. After the ceremony and in true Las Vegas style, they went to the best seafood buffet in town and enjoyed 2 hours of feasting, followed by watching some shows, doing a little gambling, and sipping a few drinks,. They are both very happy that they chose to share that day together, just the two of them. Carolyn and Mark are still planning to have a reception with family and close friends this summer to celebrate their union.
