Social Savvy!
Employees Outwit, Outlast and Outplay their peers in the annual JR Direct Sports Day.
September 30th’s lunch did not include foreign delicacies or picturesque landscapes of far off lands, but had team flags, buffs and a competitive feeling in the air. JR Directs Survivor Sports Day was a fun likeness to the popular television show.
Challenge #1 “Banner Competition” consisted of the unveiling of team banners and team names. Banners were displayed with pride. Each team put in a good show but the unanimous win went to Team Bandidos Rojos in all their red glory.

Challenge #2 “The Knotted Puzzle” relied upon team work and how well you can take direction. With a member of each team left blindfolded, teams quickly worked together to untie a series of knots binding their puzzle pieces. Once their pieces were untied, the teams raced to give assembling directions to their blindfolded team mates. With another win from the Bandidos Rojos, the competition started to get serious.

Challenge #3 “Tile Toss” tested our competitors hand eye coordination. Each team fought to be the first to land their bean bags on their team colored squares. A new winner was established with Team Gang Green the first to have their squares covered. This challenge was made much more difficult because landing on a competitor’s color counted as a point for the competitor, so aim was essential for the win.
Challenge #4 “Bottle Bowl” brought out the worst of some self proclaimed soccer/football studs when the challenge of knocking down an unprotected bottle proved harder than first anticipated. With only three water filled bottles per team our players felt sure of a quick win, when in actuality, the game was extended until, in the face of defeat Team Gang Green showed their vengeance for their continued losses and took out Team Daingan giving Team Bandidos Rojos another win to their belts!
Challenge #5 “Bucket Fill” provided another opportunity for a wet ending, with each team competing to be the first to fill their container with water. The challenge was made harder with the only tool to transport that water being a colored scrap of cloth. Team Bandidos Rojos were fighting hard until the unfortunate topple of their water by an eager team member. Team Daingan won with their quick feet and water retention!
Tribal Council The winning team Bandidos Rojos kept their torches lit and walked away with glory from our annual Sports Day event. Regardless of alliances, despite the rough terrain, our teams finished the day with a renewed sense of team spirit and a glance at why we continue to wow our peers and our clients with our fun, competitive natures that always lend themselves to a success for all, even if only one walks away with the torch!
The winners received ceremonial torches and the organizers got their cars buffed. |
